Looking back on her career, Amanda Hohenbery knows she’s been on the path to bring her to this time and place, serving as the Mid-Market and Large Group Director for Bailey Risk Management. With over twenty years of experience in Employee Benefits and Human Resources, Amanda uses her skills to help clients navigate change, streamline processes, and get the most out of their benefits program.

After graduating from Reinhardt University with an Associate of Liberal Arts and Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Services, Amanda joined the Rick Bailey & Company team in 1998. She works closely with businesses to ensure sure they receive the best products at the lowest price, technology systems, and real-time compliance information.

“Solving problems is my favorite thing to do,” Amanda reflects on her role at the agency. “I really want to understand a company’s goals, problems, and culture so I can develop a strategy to help.”

Amanda cites her two years (2015-2017) working as the Director of Human Resources for an assisted living facility as a gift. “I have the unique perspective of actually being HR at one point in my career. I know what HR’s day looks like, and I want to make it better. That kind of experience is so rare among insurance agents.”

Amanda has written articles published in the Atlanta Journal & Constitution and Marietta Daily Journal. She has been featured on HLN, Atlanta Business Radio, and the NAHU ShiftShapers podcast.

Amanda is a member of the Atlanta Association of Health Underwriters (AAHU), Georgia Associations of Health Underwriters (GAHU) and the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). She has served as the AAHU Media Chair.

In 2014, Amanda was asked by NAHU to be a member of a three-person expert panel on Exchanges at the NAHU Capitol Conference in Washington, D.C. Approximately 700 people attended that breakout session. Later that year, Amanda was invited to speak on how Exchanges have affected agents and agencies at the Benefits Symposium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Approximately 200 people attended that breakout session. Amanda enjoys sharing information about the Affordable Care Act with businesses owners and industry peers. Because of her work, Amanda was invited to be an ACA expert panel speaker at the NAHU Capitol Conference in Washington, D.C. and the Benefits Symposium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In 2019, Amanda was recognized as one of Humana's top brokers in Georgia and participated in the Humana Agents Experience at their home office in Louisville, Kentucky.

In her free time, Amanda can be found reading, decorating or cooking. Her version of a perfect day includes sitting on the beach beside her husband, Brian, and watching their two children, Bailey and Drew, playing in the waves.
